Cellulose is 85% recycled paper fiber and it takes less energy to produce the product in manufacturingExamining the amount of insulation in building new and old is a very important part of a comprehensive energy efficiency review. As with all energy efficiency improvements, the benefits come down to comfort, energy and saving money.
Cellulose provides a higher R-value (thermal resistance) than fiberglass. It tightens the building more than other materials and flows easily around pipes and electrical wiring. It has been determined that cellulose is 36% better at eliminating air infiltration.
